Have you ever wondered why we give fruitcake for Christmas? Does anyone actually eat it? If so, why? This story explores the (fake) origins of this tradition. One of my favorite Christmas traditions is reading The Night Rico Saved Santa to my daughters. Weve been reading this story for years, since the youngest was a baby. Shes now a sassy teenager, and the story evolved over time.
I need you to understand that this is one story, told twice. The first version is a safe for all ages. The second version has a bit more color commentary.
At the end of the day, I made up this story because I dont like Milk and Cookies. I prefer Chips and Beer. And every year my girls leave Beer and Chips out for Rico, Santas Roughneck helper.
Genre: Children's Fiction
