'Neath the Southern Moon: Things have settled down for the Moriarty family. Ted is back in his wife's good graces, They are preparing to return to Baltimore to Ted's job as police captain.

In Baltimore, things are heating up. The O'Carrollan crime family has an ax to grind with certain members of the City police force, and Big Dev, the head of the O'Carrollans, is gunning for the officers affiliated with Katy Moriarty's bakery.

Marcel and his family have returned from their sojourn in Europe, followed by his father and newly adopted sister.
