Deadly Trust

In Julie Erickson’s third mystery, she and true crime writer Grant Phillips attempt to help recent widow Linda Reynolds through a difficult time they’ve both experienced. However, during their lunch together, Linda implies that her stress is not just due to her husband’s death. Someone is responsible, and her sole mission is to expose them. But she refuses to say more, insisting the issue is complicated. When Linda dies in an auto accident three days later, Julie is certain that Grant’s disbelief in coincidences is well-founded.As she begins to put pieces of the puzzle together, Julie is recruited for a small role in the Summerville Community Theater’s production that Linda was starring in when she died. And it soon becomes clear that some of Linda’s friends doubt that her death was an accident. Julie begins to investigate and learns that Linda’s unknown target was behind some unusual real estate dealings tied not only to her past, but to Julie’s as well. As a result, Julie resolves to learn the identity of the person Linda sought to expose. Not surprisingly, it also makes the culprit determined to stop her.
