Book 6 in the Epic Space Opera series, "Dark Seas"
The Seventh Fleet and the Adepts:
The Komi Syndicate is a thorn in Admiral Sarah Dayson's side when she left them at the end of Book 5. All she wanted was ships to fight the Hive with, but the evil side of human nature stood in her way. So she decided to take what she needed with no regard for the suffering of those who would say otherwise.
She had no idea about the heart of evil that pumped foul blood through the Komi empire. Urdoxander Komi is like nothing she's ever seen. Heartless. Cruel. Murderous. Genocidal.
Sarah will not have it. She has a universe to save and nothing is going to stop her. Particularly not the evil machinations of politicians. If a few vile opportunists have to be permanently removed from the picture, that's fine with her.
Komi Syndicate has battles, both in space and on the ground. Psychological warfare abounds. Sarah finds herself in a conundrum, and she'll have to pick between two desperate choices to get her mission accomplished. Side with the evil she's come to revile, or risk killing the innocent lives that inhabit the planets of the Komi Syndicate.
The Obedi:
Literally beings from outside our universe, these entities of the oververse find themselves more and more entangled with the affairs of this small corner of reality. Sylange is furious when the Hive attack her children, and her onslaught of revenge is enough to fill even a renegade Hive colony with emotional terror.
The Komi:
Sometimes there is a choice between two evils. The evil that does the minimum necessary to maintain order and control, and the evil that savors the brutality that commanding a fleet of 10,000 ships makes possible. Bannick Komi is left little choice. He must confront his father.
From the Author:
These books are best read in sequence, I highly recommend you start with book 1. It is classical hard military sci-fi, but as you move into book 2 you'll notice very clearly the introduction of science fantasy into the series. In each of the books a different evil is faced, sometimes conquered, sometimes not. Through it all there is the constant struggle of Sarah Dayson, our brave hero who carries more and more responsibility at each turn. There are probably three more books after this one, + or - 1. I look forward to writing them, I hope you enjoy reading them just as much. ~Damon
