A Dance in Deep Water

In the third in a series featuring deep-water diver Michelle "Mitch" Mitchell, Doug Allyn explores the troubled relationship between a mother and son and, in doing so, brings to light the dark secrets of Mitch's own family that have remained long buried." "The summer after Mitch inherits the restaurant and dive shop from her late father, in a secluded town on Michigan's Lake Huron, she brings her eleven-year-old son home from boarding school in an attempt to repair their strained relationship. Mitch finds, as she feared, that the boy has become a stranger, and in an effort to regain their lost footing, she suggests a day trip on the Upper Peninsula. At a roadside curio shop along the way, the elderly artist who owns it sees a resemblance in Mitch to someone he once knew and reveals to her a family she never knew she had.
