Two orphans, a life of poverty, and the hope for a new future.

Katie and Sally met at an orphanage in Chicago when they were only nine years old and had been friends ever since. When the time came for them to leave the orphanage, they shared a dream of becoming seamstresses.

When Katie unexpectedly finds herself with child, and the father goes missing, Sally takes it upon herself to find them a new future. She decides to become a mail-order bride and begins a correspondence with Robert Palmer from San Francisco. Sally accepts his proposal without any misconceptions of love; it was just a new future.

The two women meet Robert and Paul Palmer, the San Franciscan brothers who work together. Whereas Robert is cool and reserved, Paul is warm and friendly. A business venture reveals itself to the women which they grasp with both hands, just as love seems to slip though them.

Will Robert and Sally finally find a connection? Can Katie find a father for her unborn child? Go on a journey of unexpected challenges as two orphan's make their way to the West.
