Jake Strand and his sister Kayla are high school students at an elite school near Washington, DC. When Jake's best friend, Amar, the son of the Indian ambassador, disappears, they take it upon themselves to try to find him. The ambassador isn't concerned; he's more interested in a cutting-edge laptop that Amar loaned Jake - a laptop that's soon stolen from Jake at gunpoint. Assisted by Kayla's best friend Hannah, the three use a combination of old-fashioned detective work as well as computers and social media to follow Amar's trail. From seedy hotels to the Indian Embassy to the Lincoln Memorial, their quest will take them all over the nation's capital.
