Dottie Prescott is determined to succeed, just as soon as she figures out what she's good at. After several bouts of clumsiness bring an end to her dancing career, she finds contentment working at a candy shop. That is, until the day her friend, Isabella, decides to play matchmaker between her and David Shields. David's been on the receiving end of Dottie's accidents one too many times, so he's not sure if being around her is good for his health, but it certainly seems to be good for his heart. When Dottie's father shows up, determined to make her move back home, David pretends to be her fiance in order to keep her in San Francisco. Will their ruse lead to kissing under the mistletoe, or a very un-Merry Christmas for them all?
