Valor of the Norsemen

Yngvar Hakonsson is a Viking raider, a jarl's champion, an enemy of the Danes, and a weary man. While raiding the Danish coast Yngvar and his Wolves are snared in an enemy ambush. After a hard-fought escape they return to Norway to count their meager rewards. While selling his treasures, Yngvar learns of a land to the south famed for its gold and wealth. He is eager to test his sword against the warriors of this land and plans to set sail.

King Hakon forbids him. He is oath-bound to honor his king's command. Yet he and his fellow Wolves want more from their lives. They lust for gold and glory. Breaking his oath, Yngvar contrives to sail for the Midgard Sea to the strange country known as Langbardaland.

Yet the gods do not treat lightly with an oath-breaker. Soon their wrath is set upon Yngvar and his crew. Great wealth is before them - but a greater enemy threatens to destroy Yngvar and his Wolves forever.
