An Unsuitable Alliance

Averil Townley, whose life is dominated by her overbearing father, is captivated by the exploits of the Suffragettes and their fight for women's rights. The advent of James Rushworth into her life brings a hitherto unknown delight but, when her fortunes take a downward turn and James melts away, Averil fears it is because he no longer sees her as a suitable match.
