Melissa Amateis

Nebraska native Melissa Amateis grew up on a farm near Bridgeport, Nebraska. She holds a BA in history from Chadron State College and an MA in history from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. As a novelist and war and society historian of World War II, her research interests largely focus on the American Homefront as well as Nazi Germany.
Next autumn, she will attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to pursue her PhD in history. An amateur photographer, voracious book collector, and avid Snoopy fan, Amateis lives with her daughter in eastern Nebraska along with a rambunctious lab/border collie mix appropriately named Blitzkrieg (Blitz for short), and three kitties.
