Caribbean Passion

(2004)
A collection of poems by

The collection is compromised of autobiographical poems about Adisa's childhood and family, and also of the intricacies and contradictions inherent in the history of the Caribbean, including the colonial legacy that in instances has thwarted the people's desire and hindered the development.
Most adept at writing about fruits and fauna, however, Adisa is indeed a nature writer that offers a rich interpretation and tapestry that allows readers to linger and bask.

Caribbean Passion is almost always erotic as Adisa explores the interplay between desire and need, abandonment and restraint, sadness and joy. Her work is colored by her womanist philosophy.
