2007 RITA Finalist and award-winning author P.J. Alderman has lived in the Pacific Northwest for more than twenty-five years, where she pursues her life-long passions of writing and native gardening. After winning numerous contests, her first novel, A Killing Tide, was published in December, 2006, to extremely positive reviews. Dubbed "a debut novel nearly flawless in its execution" and "an edge-of-your-seat chiller guaranteed to thrill", it was nominated for the RITA for Best First Book. In 2007, Alderman contracted with Bantam Books to write the Port Chatham mystery series, which blends the history of Pacific Northwest port towns with present-day supernatural sleuthery. Haunting Jordan, the first book in the series, was released in September, 2009; Ghost Ship, the second book, will be released in February, 2011, followed by Phantom Conspiracy in February, 2012.
