When my friend talked me into the auction, I thought it was for… you know, charity or something. The next thing I know, I’m sold and being chased down a hallway straight into a wall of shadow and muscle.
The creature I ran into has glowing eyes, sweeping horns, and dangerous claws. He exudes danger; I should be terrified of him. The monster chasing me turns and runs.
I should run too, but I don’t.
I should be terrified of him, but I’m not.
Instead, he makes me feel safe.
Somehow, I know that this frightening beast wants to protect me. When our time is up, will he be able to let me go? Will I even want him to?
