From bestselling Author Saxon Andrew comes The Survivor. The Universe is a dangerous place, and one never knows when Death can suddenly appear out of nowhere. The humans living on New Hope learn this lesson when the Colony Leader announces that an alien civilization called the Teg has declared war on Earth. To make matters worse, the Colonist’s discover a fleet of Teg warships will arrive at New Hope in less than eight hours.
Earth is contacted and tells New Hope that it will take a week before a fleet from Earth can arrive to confront the aliens. They suggest everyone in the cities flee into the wilderness surrounding the cities and try to survive until the warships from Earth arrive.
The cities are in pandemonium and traffic jams prevents the vast majority of the population from escaping. Eight hours later the Teg warships arrive in orbit, and more than seventy percent of New Hope’s population is still trapped in the cities. What follows will cause a huge impact on the course of the war.
The Survivor will be hard to put down as you try to keep up with the twists and turns the story takes. Finding out who the villain is won’t be easy and just when you think you know….you won’t.
Excerpt; The Survivor
The Fifty large warships arrived at New Hope and spread out in orbit above the planet. It was clear the Teg must have scouted them prior to arriving, there were fifty cities on the planet’s surface and a Teg warship was assigned to each city. The Military Leaders on Earth expected the Teg to bombard the planet from space and take possession of the planet. It was hoped enough of the colonists could escape into the wilderness and survive long enough for warships to arrive to remove the Teg threat. They were wrong on both counts.

This book was in my Amazon list of recommended books, despite being at heart a YA science fiction novel. I really hope that it inspires younger readers to love science fiction as well.
As someone well outside the intended readership, I can state that it was a great tale that was both compelling, and well written. At the end of the book, I was left with tears in my eyes, feeling inspired to write this review.
My next book will be by the author of this one, Saxon Andrew, in the hope that his other books are at least half as good.
