Sherlock Holmes and the Brighton Pavilion Mystery

Dr. John Watson, M.D., after a long period of idleness in London, following Sherlock Holmes' retirement, anticipates a restorative 'working vacation' when he agrees to temporarily take over the practice of a fellow physician in the resort town of Brighton. But the disappearance of a young woman from a locked room soon appeals to his other interests. He rashly bets that his old friend Holmes could easily solve the case...and is embarrassed when a skeptical Brighton police detective takes that bet. Fortunately, the Great Detective finds the case to present 'certain points of interest'... and who wouldn't, in a mystery that involves vanishing young women, a dead body in a carriage in the middle of the famous Brighton Pavilion, exotic angel fish and brooches as clues, and mysterious underground passages? Holmes agrees to get involved, to Watson's relief. No doubt Holmes can solve the crime...but can even he save Dr. Watson from the wrath of a returning physician? Hell hath no fury like a doctor who finds his practice awash in gossip and scandal, with Watson neglecting his patients to consort with a disreputable detective and a very crass policeman...!
