One thing she refuses to allow is for her parents to foist her off on a son of a family who will advance her fathers business interests and her mothers social standing.
Graham, recent university graduate, starts a teller job at the branch office in New Ponca intent on learn the banking business from the ground up. There he meets Phoebe, a pretty girl, who will be gone a year training to become a schoolteacher. Will he still be in New Ponca when she returns?
