I was excited about this one. It had the "13 going on 30" trope. While I enjoyed the book, I felt some parts lacked development. Firstly, Chloe. Whatever happened to her? And why the heck did Evie not do something about it? She had proof that Hugo is a fraud and all she did was transferred 100k to Chloe. Seriously? You'd think she would try to stand up for another woman who was wronged.
Secondly, Ben. So yeah I kinda saw that one coming which I didn't mind at all. But like, the ending felt as though the author realized they only had 20 pages left and needed to wrap this story up ASAP. Too convenient!
I also felt like even though Evie kept saying she wanted to be a better sister, daughter, writer etc she didn't really try to do any of those things as much. All she really did was be Hugo's girlfriend.
Overall, 2.5-3 stars
I felt like it could have been a much much better story. The idea was great, however, it fell flat in the end. I guess I hoped for something more.
Genre: Romance
