When Lila Caswell travels from her Nashville home to London on business over Christmas, she decides to catch up over the phone with the Cornish family of her friend Belle, who died three years ago - which results in an unexpected invitation to come spend the holiday with them. There Lila meets Belle's widower Grant, and they are instantly attracted to each other. But grief for Belle still haunts them both. Lila blames herself for her friend's death.
