Environmental Catastrophe. Geopolitics. Spies.

A cli-fi spy novel by a prizewinning novelist and former top-level French intelligence officer.

The Arctic ice caps are breaking up. Europe and the East Coast of the United States brace for a tidal wave. Meanwhile, former French intelligence officer John Spencer Larivière, his karate-trained, steamy Eurasian partner, Victoire, and their computer-genius sidekick, Luc, pick up an ordinary freelance assignment that quickly leads them into the glacial silence of the great north, where a merciless war is being waged for control of discoveries that will change the future of humanity. An edge-of-your-seat thriller that keeps the reader guessing combines with a terrifying look at a world (possibly) just around the corner.

Described as "Original and harrowing" (Cosmopolitan), The Greenland Breach offers cutthroat espionage and fast-paced plot from an expert in economic intelligence.

"Bernard Besson takes the eco-thriller to a whole new level in his spectacular novel. Masterfully paced and wondrously prescient… Equal parts Clive Cussler and Michael Crichton, The Greenland Breach is a terrific story that charges out of the gate and speeds in relentless fashion to a wholly satisfying finish." --Jon Land, bestselling author of Strong Rain Falling

"This book is rather like one of these slightly more upmarket chocolates. It has a thick outer layer and something completely different as a filling. As to the wrapping, it’s always interesting to watch the wheel turn…The Greenland Breach is a novel of considerable flair and panache which starts with a major environmental event and then skillfully switches focus to the ravages of human greed as plots are laid and manipulations executed (in every sense of the word). With this combination of flavors, the novel hits the sweet spot of enjoyment." --Thinking about Books

"This is a remarkable book that is fascinating, frightening, instructive and fun all at once." -Inter-Ligère

"Suspense is omnipresent from beginning to end. The story navigates between climate change, subsequent natural disasters, corporate rivalries, murder, espionage, mysteries and love. Besson progressively weaves a web that entraps the readers. Each page make you want to turn the following one quicker to find out what happens next." -Culture et Plaisir par la lecture
