In battle, there’s nothing more fearsome than a sniper and his rifle…and members of a Louisiana sheriff’s office are about to find that out the hard way.

When a sheriff’s captain is taken down by a sniper’s bullet, counter sniper London Carter goes on a manhunt after the killer. Joining him is Bethany Riggs, a lieutenant in the internal affairs division who is also a seasoned homicide detective. It’s immediately apparent that this is no ordinary murder case, and the two of them will have to bring all of their unique skills to bear if they hope to catch this ruthless cop killer.

The discovery of a mysterious message raises more questions than answers, and it appears that the killer might be taunting them. They work day and night to decipher the code and identify the killer, but answers don’t come easy. The deeper they delve into the case, the closer they grow, and a spark seems to kindle between them.

As the sexual tension between London and Bethany continue to rise, so does the body count, and fear is soon spreading through the sheriff’s office like a virus. While members of the sheriff’s executive staff go into hiding, London and Bethany remain steadfast in their hunt for the suspect. However, if they’re not careful, one well-placed bullet could bring an abrupt end to the entire case…and to their budding relationship.

James 516 is a tense and exciting read with a surprise ending that most never see coming. It won the 2016 EPIC eBook Award for Best Mystery.
