Caroline Bishop recommends
The Undoing of Violet Claybourne (2024)
Emily Critchley
"With shades of Sarah Waters and The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox, this is a riveting story about sisters, secrets and the lengths people will go to fit in with others. I raced through it because I struggled to put it down!"
The London Bookshop Affair (2024)
Louise Fein
"A fascinating story of one young woman's search for the truth about her family, set against the backdrop of 1960s London in the lead up to the Cuban missile crisis. Fein interweaves the global and the personal to create at once a compelling evocation of a world on the brink, and a moving depiction of the difference individuals can make to global events."
The Unspeakable Acts of Zina Pavlou (2023)
Eleni Kyriacou
"A compelling, nuanced and incredibly moving story showing the double standards and judgments directed at women. Loved it!"
