A firsthand account of an archeological expedition to the lost kingdom of Ebla, located in northwestern Syria. The discovery of Ebla's royal archive, nearly 20,000 clay tablets written in two languages, one an unknown Semitic dialect, been rated with the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Rosetta Stone as an archeological landmark.
