A novel by

When it was known that Jock McArthur's kinsman was coming on a visit from Scotland, Mike Liddell took time off from his job as troubleshooter at the Beauclerc place and rode to meet him. Unfortunately, Quentin McArthur, a reckless Highland Scot, was killed by an unknown gun before he reached his destination. Mike found himself facing a possible hanging charge due to perjured evidence by Beauclerc enemies, and the Marden gang of reformed outlaws had to risk their own freedom to save him.
