Grief comes in many forms. For Louis Kerr, it is the memory of two friends who were killed during a trip to the Somme battlefields. Louis is now back home receiving grief counselling to put him back on his feet. He has been told to write down everything that happened in the summer of the accident. In doing so, he describes his strange friend Dean, his beautiful but untouchable girlfriend Caitlin, and his downsized but not defeated father. This is a story of a road trip to find the graves of the heroes of the First World War. Only it turns out that most of the dead don't have graves. And few of them were ever heroes.
