Mary Lou at the Chalet School

Very Good, Early Chambers Reprint, 1959, 3 years after the First Edition. Coloured endpaper detached but present. Very good clean tight sound, very gently shaken, no bookplate, small discreet inscription, no further ownership marks, remarkably free from foxing or browning. In very good bright gilt ruled and lettered blue cloth, with like unclipped (7s6d) colour pictorial dustwrapper, featuring characteristic scene of skiing Chalet girls against Tyrolean backdrop to upper and approaching chalet to spine. Great shelf presence, with No. 34 denoting position in the Chalet School Series of 58. Evidently the dustwrapper has been preserved with a wrap, since removed, so is in very good clean crisp condition, with one short closed tear barely discernible to head of lower wrap not intruding or detracting in the least. Pale ghost mark of sellotape remain to endpapers. A charming and nostalgic treat for reader and collector alike, in lovely condition, this volume would grace any library.
