Through 1828 Burke and Hare murdered fifteen people and sold their bodies to Dr. Robert Knox, the anatomist. It began in February with simple coffin-opening and snatching, but as the needs for fresh bodies grew they plied their trade with greater vigor and, in a reign of terror they murdered for profit. A truly spine-tingling story of terror and depravity.
