A precocious penguin needs a special day care!
Just when Chloe thinks she’s got a handle on being a single mom, she finds out that her son is a penguin shifter. Now it’s his first day at a day care for shifters, and Chloe is faced with a change of schedule…and a change of heart.
Is Chloe ready for her son’s first day at a day care for shifters? And is she ready to lose her heart to this great guy who keeps coming to her rescue?
A short, sweet, shifter romance romp, continue this story from First Shift with adorable baby shifter antics and a beautiful blooming relationship in the world of Instinct from A Day Care for Shifters series.
* * * *Ryan, still happily a little boy, was content to smash his scrambled eggs on his high chair tray for about ten minutes after Chloe slipped out. He didn’t seem interested in eating any more of them, and when he started to fuss, Clay unbuckled him and set him down onto the floor.
Ryan stood in place and stared up at him in confusion, clearly trying to work out when his mother had turned into a giant, hairy-armed guy.
“Your mom had to go to the bakery,” Clay told him frankly. He realized rather belatedly that Ryan’s face was still smeared with egg and went to wet a washcloth.
Ryan’s eyes widened as he recognized what was happening and he gave a shriek of protest, turning drunkenly to flee.
Dammit! Clay realized that he should have cleaned him up while Ryan was still constrained in the high chair. It had been too long since his siblings were this age. He turned the water off and pelted after Ryan. He caught up with the boy easily—for all of his energy and enthusiasm, Ryan still had the general coordination of an octopus on crutches, and Clay was able to capture him and swish most of the egg off his face.
