Can be read as a standalone.
Skiing vacations are fun. But not at Ghost Hawk if you know too much.
Brent Umber was bored - his passion for investigating and unravelling murder mysteries was not being fed. Beginning to believe another case might never come from Lieutenant Darrow, he acted on an impulse and booked a skiing vacation.
His choice was Ghost Hawk Ridge - a spectacular, top rank skiing and snowboarding destination, situated in Brophy, the charming town that lies at the foot of the mountains.
While Brent is preparing for his flight to the resort, a young man on ski patrol is sent hurtling to his death. To all but a few, there appears to have been an unfortunate accident.
The mountain is so obvious in the landscape but hidden motives lie as deep as the mountain is high. When Brent's curiosity is finally engaged in the "accidental death", these subterranean forces begin to shift and move. Being an outsider he does not know whom to trust. The longer he stays in Brophy, the worse it gets.
No gore or profanity - a story that can be thoroughly enjoyed.
Genre: Cozy Mystery
