All of my life, I’ve felt like the frumpy, dumb middle sister, while my older sister was always the smartest, and my younger sister was always the prettiest. Since I’m in my forties now, I’ve gotten used to the sting of constant failure in the face of their successes.

I’m determined to enjoy myself, so I indulge in spa treatments, steak dinners, and cocktails at the bar—I even make a new friend. But my enjoyment comes to a screeching halt when an heiress is found dead in her hotel room, and I find myself thrust in the middle of the murder investigation and staring down the barrel of a gun.
