Clara Barton

The time is 1861, The Civil War is raging. Every day hundreds of men are dying painfully, often needlessly, of their wounds. And there is not one trained nurse in the United States. "The battlefield is no place for a woman," people say. Yet nothing can stop Clara Barton in her mission of mercy. Where the wounded are, there she must be. Before her great work is done, the American Red Cross has been founded and countless lives have been saved.
