Jordan Banner wants to change the direction his life is taking. A talented lawyer, he is unhappy working for his father’s law offices. Jordan has never forgiven his father for the unnecessary death of his mother and resents having to work for him. His mother had left a large trust for Jordan and his sister Janine, and Jordan decides to use his money to buy land in a rural area of Sacramento County. Having been raised on a horse ranch he is eager to return to a time he loved, to raise horses, and open a riding school – away from the stuffy confines of a law office.
His sister, Janine, is sent by their father to talk sense into him and return to law practice. On one of the visits she brings Aaron Spencer, an accountant for his father’s firm, and Jordan is intrigued by the man’s sunny smile and flirty manner – and the fact that he’s downright gorgeous. Aaron admires Jordan for taking the chance to make such a big change in his life, and wonders if there is room in Jordan’s future for him. He too has no love for his father, a man who threw him out and called him a predator, something Aaron cannot forget or forgive. Despite some setbacks, a jealous ex-boyfriend and an attempted arson, it could be that changes were just what these two men needed in their lives.
