Buchan's final work of fiction published a few months after his death. Written whilst Governor-General of Canada it was written with the purpose of stimulating an interest in Canadian history amongst the nations children. With the aid of his Indian mentor, young Donald sees a series of visions of scenes in Canada's past. Between the chapters are a series of related poems. Altogether a charming work.
