The Flame Stone

Charlotte de Laurent's return to her childhood home, the remote chateau at Montsapin, is far from happy. In her absence, her father has been branded as a traitor and Etienne de Chatigny, the man she loves, has been married and is now the father of a small son. Stoned by the villagers and bitterly denounced on all sides, it is the pain of Etienne's desertion that hurts Charlotte most.
