The Fury Out of Time

The mysterious object ripped across the landscape, tearing a spiral path of devastation along its route; after it crashed, military intelligence took it to Hatch Air Force Base and began a series of top secret tests, trying to uncover the workings of the craft; when the ship was opened, they found an extraordinarily instrumented capsule and the body of a humanoid pilot; as the military was investigating the ship, it was accidentally dispatched again; it reappeared: this time with a new navigator, and destroyed a small French village; the strange craft held the solution to many intriguing problems, including the mystery of time travel.
