Another ordinary week is turning to an end in the drowsy community of Pinehill. Or at least this is what it seems until two wealthy men, Mr Winfred Dorbin and his twin-brother Hector, are found dead in their own house, an ample and luxurious country mansion called Ardlui.
Villagers and local police seem convinced that the responsible for the gruesome murder is a village simpleton but, as the detection proceeds, contradicting evidences start to pile up and the unravelled life and habits of the late twins Dorbin makes it all-too-clear that they had a long list of enemies who might have plotted a revenge against them and benefitted from their deaths.
Lynn Brock at his best has devised this tangled, complex novel with a twist in the end - a real delight for Golden Age mystery lovers.
Genre: Cozy Mystery
