Six years ago, the war between the Galactic Alliance and the Telesians ended in an uneasy truce. Now, that truce is over.
Kellex and her rag-tag crew of former Alliance soldiers lost nearly everything in the war. Now outlaws and black-market smugglers, they fly the outskirts of the galaxy, living payday to risky payday. But the threat of another war is something they won't risk. They may not be on the Alliance's good side, but they won't see it fall to the insular Telesians with their society based on slavery. So when one of their former Alliance contacts asks them for help, they hatch a plan to kidnap a Telesian prince, using him as leverage to force the Telesians to peace talks.
And then, as it usually does, everything goes wrong.
Oh well. It's a good thing Kellex likes a challenge, because she's bitten off far more than she can chew this time.
And the prince? He seems to have caught feelings, which means Kellex is going to end up f*cked in more ways than she's used to.
(This series is set in a Star Trek-esque far future where humans have left a dying earth behind to live amongst the stars. Humans are just one of thousands of sentient alien species in the galaxy where they have settled. Oh, and everyone travels faster than the speed of light and has artificial gravity tech. Relax, don't try to make the "science" part of "science fiction" make sence, and enjoy the ride!)
