'Tis the Gingerbread Season
(2024)(A book in the Christmas Kisses & Cookie Crumbs series)
A Story by Monique Brasher
Coming home for the holidays was never part of the plan, but sometimes the sweetest path is the one you never expected to take.Laila
You know how they say, ‘Follow the trail to your heart’? In my case, that trail leads straight to gingerbread cookies, enchanted snowflakes, and a lot of complicated feelings. I’m back in Enchanted Hollow. Home.
Of course, I came back sooner than I planned, which means there’s no room for me to stay except a cute little Wonderland Getaway rental. Two problems: there’s a freak snowstorm (no thanks to the Mayor of Enchanted Hollow) and this rental is enchanted.
I’m snowed in with Holden, the exact reason for all of those complicated feelings.
When I wake up the next morning, my whole world is topsy-turvy. I’m living a life I don’t recognize–as Holden’s wife.
It’s everything I’ve always wanted but was scared to hope for, which means magic is involved somehow. And if I’ve learned anything, it’s that magic always comes with its own set of rules.
This sneak peek into what might’ve been is making the trail to my heart pretty obvious. It’s leading straight to Holden. And I have to wonder… am I too late to pick the right path?
'Tis the Gingerbread Season is a closed door, rom-com retelling of Hansel & Gretel with magical elements and sizzling kisses! While it is technically a standalone (short) romance, you will definitely get the most enjoyment from reading Meet Me at Midnight first!
More about the Christmas Kisses & Cookie Crumbs series: Get ready to jingle all the way into the festive season with twelve Christmas novelettes that are like little bites of sweet and swoony delight. These heartwarming and feel-good romances feature second chances, enemies to lovers, fake dating adventures, and more, all wrapped up in the cozy merriment of Christmas. Plus, there’s a cookie recipe in each book!
Genre: Romance
