Naomi Booth recommends

The City Changes Its Face (2025)
Eimear McBride
"No one else writes like Eimear McBride, with such supple, unexpected, funny, libidinous prose. This is a work of fierce intimacy, fearless in its descriptions of the inner lives of its characters, racked as they are by desire and hurt."

The North Shore (2023)
Ben Tufnell
"The North Shore conjures the atmosphere of the Norfolk coast with unnerving beauty. This is an unusual and enthralling novel: the strange events of this story have haunted me."

Oxblood (2022)
Tom Benn
"Reading Oxblood is a compelling and deeply unsettling experience; this is a novel that glitters with the dark energy and lifeblood of its characters."
