Lucy's Cottage

The cottage which Alexandra inherits from her Aunt Lucy is said to be haunted. Soon she hears the sound of deep breathing, the beating of a heart, and eerie whispers which warn her and promise her protection. Finally, in desperation, Alex announces at a dinner-party that she knows who is responsible, and returns to the cottage to wait. Eventually, nightmare becomes reality as someone steps forward to take her hand.
