Real estate rehabber and amateur sleuth, Flora Abner, is dismayed when a fierce storm breaks some of her windows and causes others to leak.
The bad news is that all of them need to be replaced. The worse news is that the installers can’t replace all of them in one day, so Flora decides to spend the night at a friend’s house, rather than sleeping in her window-less bedroom.
When she returns the next day, she makes a horrific discovery. Someone broke into her home to rob it and left behind something terrifying.
Even more blood curdling, however, is the realization that, based upon the clues she discovers, whoever tried to rob her house had to have known about the broken windows, or known that she would be gone overnight.
