An early version, possibly the first draft, of one of Bradbury's most memorable stories. "The Naming of Names," a Martian story," was first published in THRILLING WONDER STORIES (August 1949) and first collected in Bradbury's short story collection A MEDICINE FOR MELANCHOLY (Doubleday 1959) as "Dark They Were, and Golden-Eyed.
