(The second book in the Daedalus Quartet series)
A novel by

In the summer of 1940, war is raging across Europe.

Roger Hallowes, and his cousins James and Christopher Fenton, both pilots in the RAF, live in a world of comradeship and tragedy.

Roger struggles to keep his crew intact, as it seems an uncomfortable number of planes are destined to end up in the sea.

James takes on ever increasing responsibility as his unit loses Commanding Officers.

Quickly, Christopher gains a reputation for reckless behaviour, and must face the consequences.

Romance and friendship must take a back seat as the war wages on.

Their lives are full of adventure, suspense, laughter and pathos.

'A Time for Haste' finds the young protagonists entrenched in the life of the RAF at war, reeling from losses at the Battle of Britain, and with no end to the fighting in sight.

'A Time for Haste' is the second part of the Daedalus Quartet, a series full of the details learned from first-hand experience, a historically accurate framework, and impeccable technical detail. Trial By Fire (previously published as The Gifts of Jove) is the first book in the Daedalus Quartet.

Richard Townshend Bickers volunteered for the RAF on the outbreak of the second world war and served, with a Permanent Commission, for eighteen years. He wrote a range of military fiction and non-fiction books, including the first part of the Daedalus Quartet 'Trial by fire', as well as 'Torpedo Attack', 'My Enemy Came Nigh', 'Bombing Run' and 'Summer of No Surrender'.
