Everything was going fine in this peaceful halfling village. That is, until a roc claimed it as part of her territory. To kea nearbyep the village from being destroyed, to save the villagers and cattle from being devoured, and to get out of having to do any real work, Tim leads his friends on a dangerous mission to the top of a nearby mountain where the roc has built her nest.
One bad decision leads to another until Tim and his friends find themselves thousands of feet in the air, clutched in the talons of this massive angry bird. If Tim is going to help his friends escape, he might have to sink to new personal depths, and that's saying something.
As with all of the C&C shorts, this story can be read independently of the others and of the main Caverns & Creatures book series.
