To catch a killer you have to think like one.

Private investigator Andrew Schlakier is on a mission to clean up the streets of Melbourne, one case at a time. Three gripping crime thrillers, all packed into one action-packed box set.

PERVERSE CONSEQUENCES

Andrew Schlakier is hired by a government agency that wants a conviction on a ten-year-old murder case – and is willing to pay handsomely if he delivers. Broke, burnt out and binge drinking since splitting with his girlfriend, Schlakier takes on the cold case against his better judgement. He begins tracking the whereabouts of Christopher Hohl – the eldest son of one of Australia’s richest families.

Questions hang over him concerning the disappearance of his wife a decade earlier, for which he is widely believed to be responsible. But far from unearthing a man of murderous intent, Hohl’s back story reveals a family tragedy in which he was an innocent victim. Is Hohl the cold-blooded predator the media paints him as or just fodder for a vociferous press baying for blood?

Schlakier seems to be the only person who believes his target is not guilty, even while evidence to the contrary continues to mount. But as Schlakier traverses the streets of Melbourne, the state and the entire continent in search of clues, each lead propels him further into jeopardy – and a step closer to the man who will put his very own life in peril.

BLINK

When private investigator Andrew Schlakier receives a phone call out of the blue from State Corporate Affairs Mister Fix-it, Peter Michael, to investigate a case, he knows hes going to be in for a harrowing time.

A mother and daughter have been tragically found dead in their car in a quiet Melbourne street. The finger of blame points to the husband, but with an iron-clad alibi there is simply no way he could have done it. Or is there?

It's an increasingly dangerous game of cat and mouse, but as Schlakier delves more deeply into the case and endeavours to deconstruct the suspect’s story, it becomes less and less clear if he is the hunter or the prey.

DEATH ROLL

Andrew Schlakier’s next assignment takes him to the wilds of Far North Queensland during one of the worst La Ninas in decades. But cyclones, crocodiles and taipans are the least of his worries as he encounters a murder scene involving human remains in a bathtub at a remote shack so grisly it makes him wonder who could have perpetrated such an act.

As he navigates the length of the state in search of the suspect, each new revelation peels back layers of a deeply disturbed personality and a litany of crimes. It culminates in a shocking discovery that’s almost too gruesome for the private investigator to comprehend. The motives for the suspect’s acts are murky but one thing is crystal clear – no one is safe until this person is tracked down and stopped.
