Cluny was young, pretty, and-worst of all as far as the other witches were concerned-jolly. They finally couldn't stand her cheery ways, so they traded her to a peddler. Off she went in his cart, with nothing to call her own ex-cept Ol' Blue, the most obstreperous broom in the witches' den. But nothing could keep Cluny from being jolly, not even the cross old woman in whose tumbledown house she found herself. However, Cluny began to change-and so did the old woman! Robert Burch, author of many fine children's books, has spun a most en-gaging witch tale, with plenty of amus-ing twists. And Leigh Grant has pro-vided just the right drollery in her pictures.
