Robert Jackson Bennett was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but grew up in the half-developed suburbs of Katy, Texas. He spent most of his time playing on construction sites and in drainage ditches, which would explain a lot. His interest in writing came from hearing about the books his older brother was reading and then attempting to mimic them. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and, like a lot of its alumni, was unable to leave the charms of the city and resides there currently.

Robert Jackson Bennett recommends
The Ghost of Us (2024)
James L Sutter
"Sweet, acerbic, heartfelt, and witty, The Ghost of Us is like a long, languid hangout with the best people you know on a warm summer afternoon-with a ghost along with the ride. A warm, wonderful story of first loves and last moments."
The Hanging City (2023)
Charlie N Holmberg
"Lyrical and striking, The Hanging City is an enchanting story of romance within a harsh world and an even more unforgiving society. Navigating class conflict, rigid social rules, and bitter hierarchies, The Hanging City explores the many types of love that people can find between one another, and is as unsparing in its depiction of the consequences of love as it is thrilling, rewarding, and heart-felt."
Perilous Times (2023)
Thomas D Lee
"Enormous fun, combining razor sharp wit with savage political commentary, propulsive action, and near-endless Arthurian Easter Eggs. A brilliant collision of ancient mysticism with modern madness."
