Needing a fleshed out backstory for Wood's Tempest, I wrote Shifting Sands, the introduction to the story arc. Nick and the gang are always fun to write about, and this is my favorite of the series.
Kurt Hunter was introduced in Wood's Revenge, and has six books of his own. Backwater Tide reunites him and Mac, and leads into Wood's Tempest.
Mac takes the story from there and needs every bit of what he's learned in the previous two stories to save Pamela and Trufante. This story also serves as the start of a new direction for Mac and the gang. Hang on and enjoy.
Shifting Sands: Things are never easy when you're labeled a pirate in the Caribbean.
On the run from his past, Nick and the crew of The Panther have enough treasure aboard to live like kings, but nowhere to spend it. Not all the crew agrees on his plan, and after a near mutiny, the crew decides to try for a new start. When his heritage catches up to him and a new treasure appears, bigger than anything they've tried to recover before, the crew is lured into an adventure off the coast of the Yucatan. The natives and legendary pirate Jean Lafitte stand in the crews way, forcing them to use everything they've learned to escape.
Backwater Tide: There is one word that brings out the worst in people: treasure.
When Special Agent Kurt Hunter finds a boat adrift in the Biscayne National Park with the dead body of a famous treasure hunter aboard, the race is on to find his killer. Alliances shift and the bodies start to pile up as Kurt and Justine navigate the devious and dangerous world of treasure hunters to find the killer. From the iconic Intracoastal Waterway of Miami to the beauty of the Biscayne National Park, this new mystery from best-selling author Steven Becker reveals the good, the bad, and the ugly of South Florida.
Wood's Temepest: Mac Travis thought it was easy to disappear in the Florida Keys.
Living on an island; fishing, diving, and some salvage work kept him busy - until his past catches up to him. When a famous treasure hunter is murdered, Mac is handed his research of a hundred lost wrecks, but to save a friend's family from a crazed competitor, he must find the right one - and find it first, before people dear to him start to die.
The latest in the Mac Travis Adventure Series from best-selling author Steven Becker is set against the backdrop of the awe-inspiring Florida Keys. If you enjoy boating, fishing, scuba diving, and the counter-culture of the Keys, you will love this new standalone adventure.
