Lucy Williams is a work from home widow and mother of Gracie, aged five. Once, she was something very, very different but then an operation went wrong and the former spy had to create a new identity as a stereotypical suburban mum. Now her daughter is being bullied and has been hurt and the school think the problem’s with her and a clandestine night-time visit to the school playground to try to find out what happened has left her finding drugs.
Can a mum sort this out without giving herself away and before anyone else gets hurt? And what’s going on with Detective Chief Inspector Laurie Pearce?
