The Perfect Home

(2023)
(Book 15 in the Amy Hammond series)
A novel by

Meet a new crafty cosy sleuth. Amy Hammond never intended to be one. Sometimes she doesn’t actually want to be one, but that’s what tends to happen when you first live next door to and then fall in love with and eventually marry nothing like as retired as he claims that he wants to be spy, Peter Cunningham.

Westerham ought to be a quiet little Dorset market town, but, just like everywhere else, it has its undercurrents, and being close to the coast, a small airport, a couple of universities and some military bases would make it a logical place for a spy to be embedded to keep a watching brief…

It’s December 2020. More lockdowns look inevitable and Amy and Peter are living in a self-catering cottage at Swansmere Estate, where Amy runs the craft centre while they try to find the perfect home after selling their homes incredibly quickly at the height of the property mania.

When Peter falls in love with an old bungalow, surely nothing can go wrong, can it? Then he finds hidden treasure that turns out to be the proceeds of a couple of jewellery robberies and the past comes to taint the present. Some very important people don’t want that to happen, so it looks as if they’re in trouble again…

Can they sort it out before anyone else gets hurt? Can they make the best of the very strange lockdown Christmas? And will Amy get the sewing room of her dreams?
